MacGregor has won an order to supply two davit cranes to be fitted to service operations vessels that will be deployed at a pair of UK offshore wind farms.
The HMD G110 cranes will be installed on the 81 metre vessels being built by Spanish shipyard Gondan. Østensjø Rederi will operate the vessels.
The SOVs will work at Dong’s 573MW Race Bank and 1.2GW Hornsea 1 wind farms off the east coast.
MacGregor’s cranes are designed for launching and recovery of smaller boats from the main vessel.
“Even though the offshore market is experiencing low investment levels, there is a need for this kind of equipment, and customers trust us by ordering MacGregor davit systems,” said MacGregor head of smart ocean technology Esko Karvonen.
“This is mainly because our systems are at the high end of the quality scale with a strong focus on performance and reliability.”
The cranes will be delivered in June and December 2017 with the vessels due to be launched in 2018.
