German outfit Enercon has opened its first service station in Northern Ireland to support over 200MW of power generation from its wind turbines.
A team of three service engineers and technical staff will be based at the centre in Coleraine to monitor and support the operation of 12 wind farms in the country.
The company added that it anticipates “significant growth” at the station.
Enercon head of sales in Ireland Wilke Janssen said: “We have a growing fleet of wind turbines across currently 12 wind farms and more under construction.”
