The Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult has issued a call to UK universities to find a new scientific chair in wind and ocean conditions.
The innovation centre aims to expand the research capability of its wind and ocean conditions research team and to provide a stronger offering to the industry.
The new chair will form part of the wider offering provided by ORE Catapult in its operations and maintenance knowledge area, it said.
Universities have until 11 January to submit applications.
“In recent years we have seen acceleration in research geared towards lowering the cost of offshore renewable energy, but many challenges still lie ahead and we cannot be complacent in achieving our goals,” ORE Catapult’s innovation and research director Ignacio Marti said.
“Bringing industry and academia closer together means we are better equipped to tackle these issues, leverage further competitive R&D funding and, importantly, maintain the UK’s position at the forefront of the offshore renewables revolution.”
