Vattenfall is to build the 350MW Vesterhav North and South offshore wind farms in Denmark after the parliament approved supports for the projects.
The Swedish utility said it will progress plans for the nearshore installations off the coast of Jutland following the vote in the Folketing.
“We are really pleased… that we can start building these near shore wind farms. This means that Vattenfall will further strengthen its position as a leading wind power producer in Denmark,” said Vattenfall chief executive Magnus Hall.
The utility will now kick off procurement of turbines, foundations, cables and installation services with an eye on first power in 2020.
Vattenfall in September won the tender to develop and build wind farms on two sites off the west coast of Jutland with a bid of 47.5 ore per kilowatt-hour.
