Enel Green Power Peru has started construction of the 180MW Rubi solar plant in the South American country.
The $170m project, which is located in the Moquegua District of Mariscal Nieto Province, will be able to generate approximately 440GWh per year.
It is supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement signed with the Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines.
Rubi is expected to start commercial operation in 2018, supplying energy to the National Interconnected Power System through the Montalvo substation.
