Dong Energy has inaugurated an office in Taipei in Taiwan, as part of plans to develop four offshore wind farms in the Changhua area.
The Danish developer said it is currently carrying out environmental impact assessments (EIAs) of the four sites.
If the EIAs are approved by Taiwan’s government and subject to investment approval by Dong’s board, the company intends to develop up to 2GW at the sites.
Construction of the projects would start between 2021 and 2024, Dong said.
