Developer Eco Energy World (EEW) has won planning consent for a 20MW solar power plant in northeastern Australia.
The $40m project near Chinchilla in Queensland is expected to start next year, creating up to 90 construction jobs, the London developer said.
EEW’s Australian unit plans to develop 1GW of photovoltaic capacity over the next two years.
It won consent for a 140MW solar park near Maryborough, also in Queensland, last month.
“We are happy to secure our second planning approval in Australia which brings us closer to our goal to develop 1GW of solar farms in Australia,” EEW chairman Svante Kumlin said.
