Danish consultants Force Technology and the Lindoe Offshore Renewable Centre in Denmark have opened a new testing facility for the offshore renewables industry.
The component and structure testing centre in Lindoe will focus on the full-scale examination of components and systems in a climatic chamber.
The 900 cubic metre chamber can expose devices to varying climatic conditions, such as temperature cycles and corrosive environments, the partners said.
It is the only commercially-available chamber in Northern Europe that can provide a combination of three environmental systems to “perfectly” simulate the sea environment, they said.
