Germany’s federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has announced 31 potential candidates for the country’s planned offshore wind auctions.
The list includes 21 projects in the North Sea and 10 in the Baltic Sea for the two 1.55GW auctions, the first of which is scheduled for 1 March 2017 and the second a year later.
BSH said the list should help developers find out if they meet the requirements of Germany’s amended renewable energy act, which will come into effect early next year.
It added that developers could also assess the market situation and view potential competitors in the auction.
However, the list is not legally-binding document and is not a guarantee that projects included will be allowed to take part in the auction, BSH said.
In order to be eligible for the auction, projects need to have planning approval, a license, or have had a public hearing before 1 August 1 this year.
They also have to be located in offshore wind clusters 1-8 in the North Sea or in clusters 1-3 in the Baltic Sea.
