Tucson Electric Power (TEP) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to buy electricity from an up to 100MW solar plant and a 100MW wind farm.
TEP said the solar facility, which would come online by early 2019, could be built within its service territory or tied into existing transmission facilities and would contract power under a 20-year agreement.
The wind farm, which would be built and owned by a project partner, would also supply power for up to 20 years, TEP said.
The company added that it was looking for projects that can tie into the company’s transmission facilities located in the Four Corners region and along the Arizona/New Mexico border.
Both RFPs are being managed by New Hampshire-based Accion Group.
