Duke Energy Renewables is to perform remote monitoring and control services for Deepwater Wind’s 30MW Block Island wind farm when commercial operations start in November.
The work will be carried out 24/7 by Duke’s Renewable Control Center, including data acquisition, performance analysis and reporting, as well as monitoring and control.
The center will perform energy market and dispatch services for Block Island, serving as point of contact with ISO New England, the regional transmission organization.
Duke is also contracting with Grantek Systems Integration and Customized Energy Solutions to provide additional services to the wind farm.
Grantek will supply plant network, Scada design and engineering services, while Customized Energy Solutions will offer scheduling, settlement and reporting.
