Diamond Offshore Wind Holdings, part of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp, is planning to take a stake in the 370MW Norther offshore wind farm to be located 22km off the coast of Belgium.
The group, together with Eneco Wind Belgium and Belgian company Elnu, have informed the European Commission’s DG Competition of their intention to jointly control the development.
Norther is currently a 50:50 joint venture between Dutch utility Eneco and Elicio, which owns Elnu.
A provisional date of 22 November has been set for a response from the Commission, according to its website.
Diamond Offshore Wind Holdings is part of Mitsubishi subsidiary Diamond Generating Europe.
MHI Vestas is the preferred supplier of V164 8MW turbines for the project, which is scheduled to be commissioned in 2019.
