The Dutch government has selected Maasvlakte North as its preferred landfall point for the two 700MW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind sites in the North Sea.
Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Frank Kamp made the announcement yesterday afternoon, TenneT said.
The TSO had proposed three alternative cable routes for the strategic offshore link, which translates as Dutch Coast South.
The Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore grid will consist of one or two platforms at sea with two subsea power cables, underground land cables and a transformer substation.
TenneT plans to start building the terminal in 2018 and connect the wind farms to the national grid by 2021.
