Siemens has won a long-term contract to continue providing service and maintenance at the 207MW Korat 1&2 wind farms in Thailand.
The German company will service the facilities in Nakorn Rachasrima Province for the next 13 years and will provide performance-enhancing upgrades to the turbines, it said.
The wind farms, the largest in Thailand, comprise 90 SWT-2.3-101 machines.
Siemens has been servicing and maintaining wind farms since they started operating in 2012 and 2013.
The deal is the company’s first long-term wind service extension in the country, it said.
“This is an important milestone for Siemens and for Thailand’s renewable energy sector as they work toward enhancing their energy independence,” Siemens Power Generation Services wind and renewables head Mark Albenze said.
“By upgrading and modernizing the wind turbines at Korat 1 and Korat 2 and by supporting both projects with our experienced and innovative service operations, we are helping extend the operational lifetime of these important clean energy-producing assets.”
