Prysmian Group has won a €13m contract from DEME company Tideway for the inter-array cables at the 309MW Rentel offshore wind farm in the Belgian North Sea.
The Italian company will design, manufacture and supply 33kV submarine cables in various cross-sections, together with the related accessories.
It will also provide offshore cable termination and testing services.
The cables will be produced in the Prysmian’s Drammen facility in Norway.
Delivery is scheduled for summer 2017, with the termination works expected to be complete in spring 2018.
Rentel, which will be located approximately 34km from the Port of Zeebrugge, will consist of 42 Siemens 7MW D7 type wind turbines.
