The first shipment of turbine components for the 175MW White Rock wind farm will arrive today at the Port of Newcastle in Australia.
The delivery will consist of eight Goldwind 2.5MW units, including 59.5-metre blades manufactured by Sinomatech Wind Power Blade Company.
The components will be stored at the port until late November, after which logistics company Rex J Andrew will start the first 500km journey to the project site in the New England/Northern Tablelands region of New South Wales.
Deliveries will continue into next year, the project developer said.
The first stage of the project will consist of 70 turbines, with construction expected to be complete in late 2017.
