Chinese company Sany Heavy Energy is planning to manufacture its wind turbines at factories in India.
Sany said India will become its second global wind power manufacturing centre after its home base in China.
Last year, the company announced plans to invest $3bn over five years to develop wind farms totalling 2GW in India.
Sany Heavy Industry chairman Liang Wengen said: “We are confident that Sany will quickly become one of the world’s top turbine manufactures.”
