Japanese renewables company Eurus Energy Holdings has acquired two wind farms in Finland totalling 27.5MW from Dutch developer Yard Energy and Maas Capital Renewables, an ABM Amro subsidiary.
The two projects – 7.5MW Kankaanpäänmäki and 20MW Mustaisneva – are located in the Finnish region of Etelä-Pohjanmaa, about 300km to the north of Helsinki.
Kankaanpäänmäki has been operating since 2015, with Mustaisneva coming online this year.
They are Eurus Energy’s first projects in Finland.
The three-turbine Kankaanpäänmäki and eight-turbine Mustaisneva consist of Lagerwey L100-2.5MW direct drive machines with modular steel towers.
Maas Capital Renewables and Yard built the projects under turnkey contracts with Lagerwey.
Eurus Energy Holdings president and chief executive Hideyuki Inazumi said: “We are glad to enter the Finnish market with these two excellent projects, and will seek further opportunities in Finland as part of our growth strategy in Europe.”
Eurus received financial advise from Peregrine, legal advice from Baker & McKenzie and Hannes Snellman and tax advice from PwC.
Maas Capital Renewables and Yard received legal advise from Stek and Krogerus.
