Scotrenewables has kicked off mooring works ahead of deployment of its SR2000 floating tidal turbine at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) off Orkney.
Local outfit Green Marine will deploy its Green Isle vessel for the installation of the moorings at Scotrenewables’s EMEC berth in the Fall of Warness off Eday.
The works are expected to last until 13 October, according to a notice to mariners issued by Orkney Islands Council.
The SR2000 is a 2MW device comprising a floating hull incorporating two 1MW rotors mounted on retractable legs.
