NJR Clean Energy Ventures has acquired the 6.3MW Medicine Bow wind farm in Wyoming.
The project, which is located in Carbon County 80 miles from Cheyenne, comprises nine Vestas turbines.
The electricity produced is sold to the Platte River Power Authority, where it is distributed to municipal utilities in Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland in Colorado.
Medicine Bow has undergone an overhaul by Gamesa that has extended the service life of the wind farm’s turbines, NJR Clean Energy Ventures said.
The project also qualifies for federal production tax credits.
