Invenergy and 3M have held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the renewable energy developer’s 120MW Gunsight wind energy center in Texas.
Construction of the facility, which features 67 GE 1.79MW turbines, started in September 2015, with commercial operations kicking off on 22 June this year.
The center is located in Howard County, near Big Spring, and connects to the ERCOT electricity market at the Buzzard Draw switching station.
3M signed a power purchase agreement for the electricity generated by the wind farm earlier this year.
Gunsight employs nine full-time staff and is expected to contribute almost $2m to the local economy.
