German wind turbine maintenance specialist Deutsche Windtechnik has acquired 70% of Dutch services group OutSmart for an undisclosed sum, as the two companies seek to expand their product offerings and trim costs.
OutSmart managing directors Dennis Schiricke, Erwin Coolen and Maarten de Keijzer will stay in their current positions and hold the remaining 30% of the company’s shares.
“Due to increasing competition and cost pressure, the European energy market is in a transition phase and moving towards market consolidation,” Schiricke said.
“We are responding to this trend and will support our customers as a strong and independent service partner throughout the entire life cycle of wind energy projects.”
OutSmart provides operations management services in north-western Europe and claims to be responsible for 190 offshore wind assets in the North Sea.
