UK consultancy RMS Submarine is assisting Next Geosolutions on marine surveys for cable routes at the 385MW Arkona and 350MW Wikinger offshore wind farms in the western Baltic Sea.
The 17-month project – six months in 2015 and 11 months in 2016 – involves geophysical, unexploded ordnance (UXO), geotechnical and landing topographic surveys, as well as ROV inspections and nearshore and offshore work for cable company Prysmian.
RMS Submarine said it is providing ongoing technical support, project management, equipment resourcing, such as onshore office support and facilities.
The company is also providing personnel covering a variety of roles.
They include: office-based project manager and data processors; offshore party chiefs; surveyors; data processors; CAD operatives; survey and underwater engineers; geophysicists; geotechnical operators and engineers; ROV supervisors and pilot technicians; and UXO geophysicists and UXO processors.
