Duke Energy Florida’s 5MW Perry solar facility is up and running in the US state.
The plant is located on 22 acres in Taylor County and is the second project in a plan to install 35MW of solar energy by 2018 and up to 500MW by 2024 in Florida.
The 4MW Osceola plant started operating in May, Duke said.
Duke Energy state president – Florida Alex Glenn said: “With the cost of solar energy decreasing and panel efficiency advancing, building solar power plants like Perry is part of our ongoing strategy to offer cleaner, smarter energy solutions that customers value.”
