Petrofac has won a contract from Iberdrola Engineering and Construction UK to design the offshore substation jacket and foundations for the 714MW East Anglia 1 wind farm off the UK coast.
The deal is the company’s second project on the EA1 development, with its project development group having already completed the basic engineering for Iberdrola earlier this year.
Petrofac Engineering & Production Services director of engineering services Usman Darr said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to build on our existing relationship and track record with [Iberdrola Engineering and Construction UK] to support the realisation of its key renewables project.”
Siemens has been lined up to supply 102 7MW turbines to the Suffolk coast wind farm. First turbines are set to be installed in the summer of 2019.
