Five bidders have been shortlisted by Ofgem in the £250m auction to operate the transmission link for Dong Energy’s 258MW Burbo Bank 2 offshore wind farm in Liverpool Bay.
The Balfour Beatty Equitix consortium, Dalmore Capital, Diamond Transmission Partners, Mari Energy Transmission and Transmission Capital Partners are all in the running, the UK energy regulator said.
The preferred OFTO bidder will be confirmed in April 2017. The winner will be guaranteed a revenue stream for 20 years under the terms of the licence, subject to availability of the assets, Ofgem added.
Dalmore Capital is acting in its capacity as manager of the PPP Equity PIP, Diamond Transmission Partners is a consortium comprising Mitsubishi Corp and HICL Infrastructure Company, while Mari Energy Transmission is a consortium of Macquarie Corporate Holdings and Frontier Power.
