Scottish tidal developer Current2Current has bagged a Scottish Enterprise R&D feasibility grant of £100,000 to develop a device named TEC4.
The grant is a contribution towards a £260,000 R&D feasibility project the company is undertaking over the next six months. The Aberdeenshire company have also received match funding from a private investor.
A 2 meter diameter working prototype has been successfully tested in the North Sea near Newcastle and work has now begun on TEC4, a 4m diameter pre-production prototype.
The company has taken offices at Crichiebank Business Centre at Inverurie’s Port Elphinstone and has been working on extended testing of its TEC1 prototype since June.
