Japan’s Showa Shell Sekiyu has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Aramco and the Saudi Arabian government to investigate the potential of producing CIS thin-filmed solar panels in the Kingdom.
Showa Shell Sekiyu said the companies have agreed to work with the government on a joint feasibility study involving its full-owned subsidiary Solar Frontier.
The pact is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic reform initiative, the Japanese company said.
Further developments will be announced depending on the results of this joint feasibility study, it added.
