Argentine companies Eolica Rionegrina and Corporacion America will seek support for a 100MW wind farm in the country’s first auction for renewable energy projects.
The partners aim to develop the project in the Cerro Policia area of the Rio Negro province, the Rio Negro government said on its website.
The province, which owns the Eolica Rionegrina joint venture, has provided a 34 square kms site for the facility.
Corporacion America has been operating a 95MW wind farm in Uruguay for three years.
Argentina plans to award 1GW of capacity in its first auction for renewable energy, including 600MW for wind projects.
Developers can submit bids until 5 September and winners will be announced on 12 October.
