SeaRoc Group has won contracts to advise offshore wind companies in Japan on health and safety.
The UK firm will provide a full day training course in Tokyo to about 100 attendees on 17 November, it said.
The training, in association with ClassNK Consulting Services, will aim to raise awareness of the importance of health, safety and environmental (HSE) management in offshore wind projects.
SeaRoc will also work with Nagasaki Marine Industrial Cluster Association to advise on HSE management for the Japanese offshore wind industry.
It will share its experience on training certificate requirements for offshore workers and advise on how Japan could develop certification standards to manage offshore HSE.
“We’ve made movements into the offshore wind market in East Asia and are becoming recognised as an authority to support companies in the growth of the sector,” SeaRoc head of HSE quality Kelly-Ann Ee said.
“Our experience in the industry dates back to 2002, at the very start of the commercialisation of offshore wind, and the companies we are working with in East Asia are keen to learn from our experience and use our expertise to guide them as the offshore wind market here evolves.”
