US federal officials will hold pre-lease meetings with industry and stakeholders ahead of a proposed offshore wind auction for North Carolina.
The “public auction seminar” on 20 September in Raleigh will discuss a proposed sale notice and request for interest published earlier this month for the 122,405 acre Kitty Hawk zone, and next steps.
A public information meeting will follow on 21 September in Nags Head.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is taking public comments on the PSN/RFI through 17 October. Detail of the auction will be announced after that time.
Prospective bidders already qualified – including Apex, Dominion, EDF, Fishermen’s Energy and Green Sail Energy – have been asked to affirm their continued interest. Other bidders are also invited to come forward.
