San Diego-based outfit NerWind Services has signed an agreement to provide turbine optimization services to German company Energiekontor.
The deal will include retro-fitting control systems on a large portion of the developer’s turbine fleet.
Energiekontor has installed around 100 wind farms with a combined capacity of more than 840MW in Germany, Portugal, Greece and the UK.
“Targeted component upgrades and adjustments to the way turbines are operated can unlock significant value for wind farm owners and operators,” NerWind chief operating officer Bent Nielsen said.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to work with a leading wind farm operator like Energiekontor AG,” he added.
