Prowind Canada expects to complete turbine installation at the 18MW Gunn’s Hill wind farm in southwest Ontario in just over a week.
“Half of all turbines are erected,” project development manager Susan Shaw told reNEWS. “Scheduled completion is 2 September.”
Senvion has the scope for turbine supply, erection and commissioning while Renewable Energy Systems Canada is the balance of plant contractor.
Subcontractor Borea Construction is installing the 10 Senvion MM92 1.8MW turbines.
Interconnection work for the distribution-connected project is complete, except for final turbine hook-ups.
The wind farm is owned by a partnership formed by the Oxford Community Energy Co-operative, Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corp and Prowind.
It benefits from a fixed 20-year power purchase agreement with the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator.
