WPD has been awarded contracts for three wind farms totalling 350MW in Chile’s latest electricity tender.
The wind farms are in the south of the country and comprise the almost 260MW Malleco scheme in Araucanía and the Negrete and Duqueco projects in Bío-Bío.
The contracts were for 786.8GWh a year over 20 years starting in 2021, WPD said.
The tender for 12,430GWh attracted 84 companies submitting bids for 85,000GWh.
Twenty-eight bidders were successful, WPD said.
