American Electric Power Service Corp has issued request for proposals (RFP) on behalf of subsidiary Southwestern Electric Power Company to buy wind farms between 80MW and 100MW.
Proposals for projects that can reach commercial operations by 31 December 2016 need to be submitted by 15 September, the company said.
The projects must also be interconnected to the Southwest Power Pool and located in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas or Missouri.
Projects successful in the RFP process will need to gain regulatory approval from the Arkansas Public Service Commission, Louisiana Public Service Commission and the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
