Fugro is to start laying array cables next week at the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm off the UK’s Sussex coast.
The company’s multi-purpose vessel Fugro Symphony is currently trialling its dynamic positioning capability and commissioning cable laying equipment ahead of the installation work, a spokeswoman for Eon said.
The Fugro Saltire multi-purpose vessel will arrive on-site in September to bury the cable, she said.
“The first cable laying campaign is due to finish in early November, when there will be a break over the winter season,” the spokeswoman added.
Rampion is being developed by Eon, the UK Green Investment Bank and Canadian energy company Enbridge.
It is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
