HiDef Aerial Surveying has merged with German environmental consultancy BioConsult to boost offshore wildlife survey services.
HiDef said the partnership gives it immediate access to BioConsult’s pool of over 30 environment scientists, marine biologists, ornithologists and statisticians.
The two companies first linked up in 2013, when BioConsult licenced HiDef’s digital aerial survey technology.
The companies said the merger “creates a high-profile offshore wildlife survey consultancy … [that] is able to provide greater focus to the core business areas across northern Europe”.
HiDef said its sister company Savvy Technologies will focus on research and development of the digital video camera system, as well as the collision avoidance system under development on behalf of the US Department of Energy.
