Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC) is to provide technical consultancy on contingency planning and other services for six UK offshore grid assets managed by Transmission Capital Services.
The scope of the work includes preparation of cable repair and maintenance strategies, developing plans for future maintenance contracts and the preparation of specification and tender packages for the supply of services.
OWC, part of Oslo-listed Aqualis, will also develop detailed employer’s requirements for cable repair operations in different water depths and for different cable types.
Transmission Capital Services manages grid assets for six offshore wind farms: Barrow; Gunfleet Sands; Ormonde; Robin Rigg; Lincs; and Westermost Rough.
OWC managing director Ian Bonnon said: “Our focus will be contingency planning that allows an effective response as well as timely and cost effective remediation to any arising issues around cable maintenance, repair and ongoing robustness and integrity.”
