Natural Power has completed an independent energy yield assessment of the 160MW Tellenes wind farm for financing purposes on behalf of SunEdison Norway Holdings.
The project is located near Sogndalis in Norway, comprises 50 Siemens SWT 3.2-113 turbines and sells power to Google under a 12-year agreement.
Natural Power said a finance grade independent energy yield assessment is used by lenders or other parties with a financial interest in a wind project.
The assessment aims to predict the long-term wind resource and average energy production of a project over its lifetime and quantify the associated uncertainty inherent in these predictions, the renewable energy consultancy said.
It is “an essential element in securing project funding and aims to provide owners and investors with the confidence to make well-informed financial decisions”, the company added.
Natural Power technical director Lauren Wheatley said: “Energy yield estimates are the cornerstone of wind power financial models and the accuracy of these is therefore imperative.”
