Van Oord’s heavy lift vessel Svanen has completed the installation of 32 foundations at Dong Energy’s 258MW Burbo Bank 2 offshore wind farm 8km off the UK coast in Liverpool Bay.
Van Oord was responsible for installing the foundations, supply and installation of the scour protection and provided the logistics between the fabrication ports in Germany, Denmark, the UK and the project site.
Bladt Industries and EEW fabricated the project’s foundations, which will support 32 Vestas 8MW turbines.
Burbo 2 is expected to be operational in early 2017.
