Monmouthshire outfit Ocean Resource has won the foundation contract from tidal developer Minesto for its Holyhead Deep project off the coast of Anglesey.
The Portskewett company will design and fabricate a seabed foundation for the first DG500 Deep Green turbine to be deployed at the up to 10MW project next year.
The foundation will to form the anchor point for the connecting tether and power/control umbilical cables for the 500kW-rated tidal kite.
It will also act as a secure mounting to deal with the variable forces of the site.
