Penguin set for Korean waters

Finnish developer Wello is teaming up with Korean company BSR to establish a wave energy demonstration project in the Asian country.

The companies have signed a letter of intent that, as well as developing a demo project, aims to find best practice for utilizing local Korean expertise in building devices.

Wello will bring its technology expertise to the project, while BSR will provide energy plant building know-how.

The Finnish company has for several years developed and tested its Penguin technology in Europe, mainly at the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney.
