The topside for the offshore substation for the 402MW Dudgeon wind farm is being prepared for transport to the project’s site off the Norfolk coast in the UK, according to Siemens Transmission and Distribution.
Siemens contracted Sembmarine SLP to design and build the offshore substation for Dudgeon owners Statoil, Statkraft and Masdar.
The substation’s jacket foundation left Sembmarine’s fabrication yard and was installed at the site in May by Seaway Heavy Lifting’s (SHL’s) crane vessel Stanislav Yudin.
SHL will also install the topside.
Dudgeon will comprise 67 Siemens 6MW turbines and is scheduled to come online next year.
