UK environmental consultancy APEM has started carrying out post-construction aerial surveys at the 576MW Gwynt y Mor wind farm off the Welsh coast.
The initial contract will run for 12 months until next July with a potential extension for a further two years, the company said.
Ultra-high resolution aerial surveys will monitor birds and marine mammals at the offshore wind farm plus a 4km buffer zone, as well as a wider area in Colwyn Bay.
“Gwynt Y Mor Offshore Wind Farm are looking forward to working with APEM again, after successful delivery of pre-construction and construction ornithological surveys,” RWE Innogy offshore consents manager Paul Carter said.
