Acciona Energy has won a state tender in Australia to build the 66MW Mt Gellibrand wind farm in Victoria.
The Victoria Government said it will purchase green energy certificates from the project that will enter construction next year.
Mt Gellibrand is located some 65km west of Geelong and will be commissioned in 2018. It will feature AW3000 3MW turbines.
The wind farm will swell Acciona’s operational Australia onshore portfolio from its current 302.5MW.
“This is very positive news for the growth of Acciona in Victoria, where we already operate the 192MW Waubra wind farm and where we have a number of additional wind energy projects in development,” Accciona Oceania managing director Andrew Thomson said.
