Nordex installed a record 134 wind turbines in Germany in the first six months of 2016, a 135% increase on the 57 units installed in the same period last year.
The company said average capacity per turbine has increased to 2.6MW from 2.3MW, raising total output of new installations by 162% to 341MW from 130MW last year.
It said the N117/2400 Gamma turbines for IEC3 locations and the new N131/3000 accounted for 107 of the installations this year.
The company added that its Delta models – N100/3300 and N117/3000 – have made a comeback in coastal regions with IEC1 and 2 locations, with 27 machines installed in the first six months of 2016.
Some 33 installations were in Bavaria followed by Baden-Württemberg with 22 units, Nordex said.
All contracts were completed on time and in line with the agreed terms and conditions, the company added.
Nordex managing director responsible for the German market Jörg Hempel said: “Given the current political discussion in Germany, reliable deliveries are of enormous importance for our customers as this directly impacts the economic viability of the projects.”
