EnBW has confirmed a tender calling for a turnkey supplier of turbines, foundations and an offshore substation for its up to 116.8MW Albatros offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The Albatros tender, first reported in the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS, is split into two lots.
One lot combines turnkey installation of 19 turbines with a capacity of up to 7MW and an offshore substation on monopile foundations, as well as a service contract. Certification is also part of the package.
Offshore works need to start in the second quarter of 2018, with full commissioning expected before the end of 2019.
In a second lot, EnBW has called for bids for the project’s internal cabling.
The layout of the wind farm foresees some 32km of inter-array cabling and connection to EnBW’s neighbouring 497MW Hohe See wind farm.
“With the interconnection between Albatros and Hohe See we intend to look for synergies during operation of the wind farms,” a spokesperson for EnBW said.
Interested parties had until 30 June to hand in offers and to be prequalified.
EnBW plans to award contracts for Albatros later this year.
A final investment decision has yet to be taken for the project to be located some 95km North of Borkum Island and 100km West of Helgoland.
The company acquired Albatros in late 2015 from Strabag and scaled the project down from 400MW and 79 turbines.
