Boskalis has been selected by Vattenfall as balance of plant contractor for the 11-turbine Aberdeen offshore wind farm in northeast Scotland.
The company is preferred bidder for the work which is expected to kick off next year. It will tackle all elements of construction except turbine supply.
MHI Vestas is in line to provide V164 turbines to the wind farm, as first reported exclusively by subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
Vattenfall has yet to commit to construction of the Aberdeen project (pictured in artist’s impression), which is also known as the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre.
There is some uncertainty over the future of €40m in promised support from the Europeean Union following last week’s Brexit vote. Vattenfall declined to comment.
