Vestas is to supply and commission 15 V100 2MW turbines for Tan Hoan Cau Joint Stock Corp’s 30MW Huong Linh 2 wind farm in Quang Tri province in north Vietnam.
The Danish company said it expects to deliver the units in late 2016, with commissioning in early 2017.
The order also includes a five-year active output management 4000 service contract and Scada VestasOnline Business monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Tan Hoan Cau chairman Mai Van Hue said: “For our very first venture into the wind energy business, we wanted to be in good and capable hands – and we found that with Vestas.
“We are impressed with the technological advancement of Vestas’ products and their ability to match the right turbine for each specific wind site.”
Vestas Asia Pacific and China president Chris Beaufait said: “Vietnam is a country with abundant wind resources – among the richest in south-east Asia.”
