Three renewable energy projects totalling 100MW in Nigeria, Madagascar and Sierra Leone have won a share of $7m from Access Power’s Access Co-Development Facility.
Access said the winners are AGES, Mentach Energy and Stucky.
The projects, which fought off competition from almost 100 other schemes across Africa, will also receive technical support as part of the prize.
The decisions were based on commercial, technical and environmental merits, as well as local regulatory issues and the capability of the projects’ teams, Access said.
